About Swat & Snap

Swat & Snap is written and run by Ryder M., the hands-on owner behind Magoo Media Group.

This site covers four pest problems — mice, rats, fruit flies and mosquitoes — and nothing else. That's deliberate. Most pest sites try to cover forty pests and end up 800 words deep on each. We'd rather go properly deep on the four that actually turn up in most homes.

We don't run a test lab, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we do is read the manufacturer's own specifications, look for the pattern across thousands of verified buyer reviews, and check both against published guidance from university extension entomologists and the CDC. When that reading says a whole product category doesn't do what its box claims, we say so — even when we earn a commission on it. Our page on bug zappers is the clearest example.

What the site covers

Four problems, each with its own hub, plus a fifth hub for the constraint that overrides everything else:

• Mice — traps, bait, placement, and the repellents that do and do not work
• Rats — the patient approach a wary animal requires, and the poison question
• Fruit flies and gnats — three different insects, three different fixes
• Mosquitoes — what reduces a population and what only kills moths
• Pet-safe and kid-safe — the same products re-sorted by what a dog or a toddler can reach

What it does not cover

No roaches, no ants, no spiders, no bed bugs, no wildlife removal, and no "find an exterminator near me" directory. Those are real problems and other people cover them. Adding them here would make every page shallower.

How it is funded

Swat & Snap earns affiliate commission when a reader buys through a link on the site. That is the only revenue. It is disclosed on every commercial page, above the first link, and in full on the affiliate disclosure page.

Commission does not decide the picks. Two things it visibly does not decide: our bug zapper page tells readers that the product it links to barely works on mosquitoes, and our pet-safe rat poison page answers a high-commercial-intent query by telling people not to buy the product they searched for.

Who publishes it

Swat & Snap is published by Magoo Media Group. There is no phone number and no mailing address on this site because there is no storefront to visit — email is the way to reach us, and it reaches a person.
